Now that the autumn has arrived and the children are back to school, its time to turn the mind to the ski holiday - with half term and Easter filling up, what about having a ski week during the October half term.
In Europe, the ski resorts start opening this month - indeed, Pitztal opened at the weekend so skiing in October and November is a practical and cost effective way to have a ski holiday - be that for a week or a short break.
Where to go?
The Stubai valley offers glacier skiing and a long season - the lifts open in October and offer excellent ski conditions for the Autumn and stay open until into May. The resort plays host to many ski teams for early season training so you will be skiing amongst the very talented.....do not worry, there is plenty of room on the glacier for everybody.
We have hotels and apartments in several of the villages so we have options for individuals and corporate trips
Generally one of the earliest ski resorts to open in Europ, the ski area is split across 2 areas.
What makes Pitztal so worthy of mention is that this glacial resort can provide skiing from mid September through to mid May and children under 10 can ski for free (yes – free!).
Other ski options in Autumn include:
- Saas Fee
Sometimes the key for autumn skiing is accessibility - some of the flight routes including Innsbruck and Chambery do not start until December.
This can make the transfers a little longer....however, flying into Munich does give reasonable access to Stubai, Pitztal and Soelden
